Incidence of Repeat Elbow Capsular Release After Arthroscopic Elbow Capsular Release

چکیده
Background: Elbow capsular release can be performed arthroscopically or through an open method to improve range of motion (ROM). However, it is unclear how frequently patients require after unsatisfactory results from arthroscopic release. Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose this study was determine the percentage who underwent elbow for loss then required a repeat other subsequent surgery on same elbow. It hypothesized that would rarely (<5%) Study Design: Case series; Level evidence, 4. Methods: Patients January 1, 2010, December 31, 2019, were identified by chart review and procedure code. Demographic parameters, pre- postoperative ROM, surgical history collected review. Follow-up data included patient satisfaction Timmerman-Andrews (TA) score. Data compared between did those not surgery. Results: Overall, 140 (116 male, 24 female; mean age, 49.6 years), 18 (12.9%) surgery, including 6 releases (4.3%; 1 5 arthroscopic). most common follow-up ulnar nerve releases/transpositions (n = 7). Total arc (flexion extension) improved 51.4°. TA score 76.5 ± 20.4 at 5.25 years postoperatively. Mean 77.6 26.3. In study, 82.4% stated their symptoms either resolved completely. had significantly lower preoperative total versus ( P .046). There no difference groups in symptom resolution, satisfaction, ≥ .279 all). Conclusion: After release, <5% 12.9% some form 4.3% new injury saw improvement but many still residual underlying disease

Arthroscopic Posteromedial Capsular Release.
Post-traumatic or postsurgical flexion contractures of the knee can significantly limit function and lead to gait abnormalities. In this setting, interventions to regain full extension may include bracing, physical therapy, and open or arthroscopic surgery. Open surgical approaches to restore full motion often demand extensive recovery and promote further adhesions and loss of motion, which has...
متن کاملPrimary Frozen Shoulder Syndrome: Arthroscopic Capsular Release.
Idiopathic adhesive capsulitis, or primary frozen shoulder syndrome, is a fairly common orthopaedic problem characterized by shoulder pain and loss of motion. In most cases, conservative treatment (6-month physical therapy program and intra-articular steroid injections) improves symptoms and restores shoulder motion. In refractory cases, arthroscopic capsular release is indicated. This surgical...
